1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to MeaningMadeKnown.com and other webpages operated by Next Steps Media & Digital Services that link to this Policy, as well as information you provide when you contact us about our services. It does not govern third-party websites, platforms, or services that maintain their own privacy practices.
Our services are directed primarily to adults, businesses, executive leaders, ministries, nonprofits, educators, entrepreneurs, podcasters, and other professional or organizational clients in the United States.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide directly
We may collect information you choose to provide, including:
- Your name, email address, telephone number, organization, job title, and other contact information.
- The contents of messages, inquiries, requests, attachments, scheduling information, and other communications.
- Information about your project, audience, goals, source recordings, documents, media files, and requested services.
- Contract, billing, invoice, transaction, and business-record information if you become a client. We do not currently collect payment-card information through this website.
- Information submitted in connection with a privacy request, complaint, or appeal.
Please do not send Social Security numbers, government identification numbers, account passwords, payment-card data, medical records, or other highly sensitive information through ordinary email or the website form unless we specifically request it through an appropriate secure method.
Website inquiry form and Jotform
The Start a Conversation form is provided and processed through Jotform. When you submit the form, Jotform processes the information entered into the form, which may include your name, email address, telephone number, organization or project, service interest, message, consent response, IP address, device and browser information, timestamps, and related technical or security data. The submission is transmitted to us so that we can review and respond to your inquiry.
Jotform’s handling of information is also governed by its own privacy and security practices. You may review the Jotform Privacy Policy. Do not submit highly sensitive information through the inquiry form.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the website, our hosting and security provider may automatically process technical information needed to deliver and protect the site. This may include your Internet Protocol address, approximate location derived from that address, browser and device information, operating system, referring page, requested page, timestamps, request details, system configuration information, and security or diagnostic logs.
The website is hosted by Vercel. Vercel describes its processing of customer website traffic and end-user information in its Privacy Notice.
Google Analytics 4
If you choose Allow Analytics, this website loads Google Analytics 4, or GA4, to help us understand website traffic and how visitors use the site. Google Analytics may process information such as page activity, session statistics, approximate geographic location, browser and device information, referring information, and certain website interactions measured through GA4 and Enhanced Measurement.
GA4 may use first-party analytics cookies, including cookies such as _ga and _ga_<container-id>, to distinguish users and maintain session information after analytics consent is granted. Google states that Google Analytics does not log or store individual IP addresses when collecting Analytics data. You may review Google’s Analytics privacy and data safeguards and Privacy Policy.
We use a Basic Consent Mode implementation. The Google Analytics tag is blocked until you choose Allow Analytics. If you choose Decline, the Google Analytics tag is not loaded and no Analytics data is sent to Google through this GA4 implementation. Your analytics preference is stored locally in your browser so that the website can remember your choice.
Google Fonts
This website currently requests the Inter and Jost typefaces from Google Fonts. When your browser requests those files, Google may receive technical information such as your IP address, requested URL, browser and operating-system information, date and time, and referring webpage. Google describes its practices in the Google Fonts privacy information and Google Privacy Policy.
3. How we use information
We may use personal information to:
- Respond to inquiries and communicate with you.
- Evaluate requests, prepare proposals, schedule conversations, and provide contracted services.
- Create, edit, organize, deliver, and manage client-approved content and project files.
- Administer contracts, invoices, payments, business records, and client relationships.
- Operate, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website and our services.
- Measure website traffic, usage patterns, and site interactions through Google Analytics 4 when analytics consent has been granted.
- Prevent fraud, misuse, security incidents, and unlawful activity.
- Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims and enforce agreements.
- Comply with tax, accounting, recordkeeping, regulatory, court-order, subpoena, and other legal obligations.
- Carry out another purpose disclosed when information is collected or with your consent.
4. How we disclose information
We do not disclose personal information except as reasonably necessary for legitimate business purposes, with your direction or consent, or as permitted or required by law. Categories of recipients may include:
- Hosting, form, infrastructure, security, and analytics providers, including Vercel, Jotform, and Google when you grant analytics consent.
- Communications and business-service providers, such as email, file-storage, accounting, scheduling, payment, or project-management providers when those services are used.
- Independent contractors and professional advisers, such as attorneys, accountants, insurers, or technical specialists, subject to appropriate duties or restrictions.
- Government, regulatory, law-enforcement, or judicial authorities when disclosure is required or permitted by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, security, or property.
- A successor or transaction participant in connection with a proposed or completed merger, sale, financing, reorganization, transfer of assets, or similar business transaction, subject to applicable law.
Service providers may process information only for the functions they perform for us or as otherwise permitted by their agreements and applicable law.
5. Sale, sharing, targeted advertising, and profiling
We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not currently use personal information for targeted advertising or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
During the preceding twelve months, we have not sold personal information or shared personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have not knowingly sold or shared personal information belonging to anyone under sixteen years of age.
Because we do not currently engage in those activities, no opt-out is necessary. If our practices change, we will update this Policy and provide legally required opt-out methods before beginning the new activity.
6. Cookies, analytics, and preference signals
We use Google Analytics 4 only after a visitor grants analytics consent. Our Basic Consent Mode implementation blocks the Google Analytics tag before consent. If analytics consent is granted, GA4 may set first-party analytics cookies and collect measurement information for site analytics. If analytics consent is declined, the GA4 tag remains blocked.
Our GA4 implementation is configured for measurement rather than advertising. Advertising storage, advertising user-data consent, and advertising personalization are denied. Google Signals and advertising-personalization signals are disabled in the website tag configuration. We do not currently use Google Ads remarketing, advertising pixels, behavioral-advertising technology, or marketing cookies on this website.
Your analytics choice is saved in browser local storage under a website preference so that it can be honored across pages and future visits from that browser. You can review or change your choice at any time by selecting Analytics Preferences in the website footer. Declining analytics does not prevent you from using the public website or submitting the Start a Conversation form.
Vercel and Jotform may use technical logs, cookies, or similar technologies that are necessary to operate, secure, and deliver their respective services independently of our GA4 analytics preference.
Some browsers offer Do Not Track settings, Global Privacy Control, or other universal opt-out mechanisms. Because the website does not currently sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or use targeted advertising, those signals do not change those present practices. We will recognize legally required opt-out preference signals if applicable practices are introduced in the future.
7. Data retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy. Retention is determined by considering the nature and sensitivity of the information, the duration of the relationship or project, contractual commitments, tax and accounting obligations, legal limitation periods, dispute-resolution needs, security requirements, backup cycles, and other legitimate business or legal requirements.
Form submissions may also remain in Jotform according to our account settings, operational needs, and applicable retention requirements. Google Analytics information is retained according to our GA4 property settings and Google’s applicable retention controls. When information is no longer reasonably needed, we take steps to delete, destroy, deidentify, or securely isolate it, subject to applicable law and technical limitations such as backup systems.
8. Security and breach response
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we maintain. These measures may include access controls, password protection, secure hosted infrastructure, vendor review, data minimization, restricted access, software updates, and secure disposal practices.
No electronic transmission, storage system, or security measure can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for using appropriate care when sending information electronically. If we discover a qualifying security incident involving personal information, we will investigate, take reasonable corrective action, and provide notices required by applicable federal or state law.
9. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you reside and whether a particular law applies to us or to the information involved, you may have the right to:
- Confirm whether we process your personal information.
- Access or obtain a copy of personal information we maintain about you.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Request deletion of personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
- Request a portable copy of certain information.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, targeted advertising, or qualifying profiling.
- Limit certain uses or disclosures of sensitive personal information.

- Appeal a decision regarding a privacy request where applicable law provides an appeal right.
These rights are not absolute. Applicable law may permit or require us to deny or limit a request, including when information must be retained to complete a transaction, comply with law, protect security, prevent fraud, exercise legal rights, or preserve another person’s rights.

We may request reasonable information to verify your identity and authority. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted by law, but we may require evidence of authorization and may verify the request directly with the individual. We will respond within the period required by applicable law, generally within forty-five days where that timeframe applies.
Appeals
To appeal a denied privacy request, email peter@MeaningMadeKnown.com with the subject line Privacy Appeal and explain why you believe the decision should be reconsidered. We will review and respond within the period required by applicable law.
10. State-specific notice and California notice at collection
The following summary is provided for residents of states with comprehensive consumer privacy laws, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and other jurisdictions that enact similar requirements.
Categories of personal information
- Identifiers and contact information: name, email address, telephone number, organization, job title, IP address, and similar identifiers.
- Commercial and transaction information: service inquiries, proposals, contracts, invoices, payments, transaction history, and records of services requested or provided.
- Internet and network activity: browser, device, operating system, referring page, requested pages, timestamps, request information, security logs, diagnostic data, and, after analytics consent, website interaction and session information measured through GA4.
- Approximate geolocation: general location inferred from an IP address. We do not intentionally collect precise geolocation through this website.
- Professional or organizational information: organization, title, industry, project role, and related business information.
- Communications and client content: messages, form submissions, attachments, recordings, documents, images, media, project files, and other material you provide.
- Inferences: limited conclusions reasonably drawn from an inquiry or project information to understand service needs. We do not create behavioral advertising profiles.
Sources
We collect these categories directly from you, through Jotform when you submit the inquiry form, automatically through website hosting and security infrastructure, through Google Analytics after you grant analytics consent, from service providers acting on our behalf, and from publicly available or professional sources when reasonably necessary for a requested business interaction.
Purposes and business disclosures
We use these categories for the business and operational purposes described in Section 3. We may disclose identifiers, contact information, commercial information, network activity, approximate location, professional information, communications, client content, and consented analytics information to the categories of recipients described in Section 4 when reasonably necessary for a legitimate business purpose. We do not sell these categories or share them for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Sensitive personal information
We do not request sensitive personal information through the public website and do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about individuals. Please do not submit sensitive information unless it is necessary for an agreed service and an appropriate method has been established.
11. Children’s privacy
This website and our services are not directed to children under thirteen, and we do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under thirteen. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so that we can investigate and take appropriate action. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under sixteen.
12. Third-party links and services
The website may link to or embed third-party websites or services, including Jotform, Google Analytics, and Google Fonts. We do not control and are not responsible for a third party’s independent content, security, or privacy practices. Review the privacy notice of any third party before providing information.
13. Processing in the United States
We are based in the United States. Information may be processed and stored in the United States or other locations where our service providers operate. Privacy laws in those locations may differ from the laws where you reside.
14. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy when our website, services, vendors, legal obligations, or information practices change. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. When required by law, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before applying a material change.
This Policy must be reviewed before materially changing our analytics configuration or adding advertising, payment processing, newsletters, scheduling tools, additional embedded media, or other technology that changes how personal information is collected or disclosed.
